Dr Geeta Kadayaprath has been actively involved in the field of Surgical Oncology for the past 21 years. She decided very early on to choose Breast cancer as her chosen subspeciality and started pursuing her interest with a lot of zeal.
She realised that this was an area which was not catered to adequately and women did not have the choice of being seen and treated by a lady surgeon. She wanted to offer that choice, an opportunity to reach out to women with breast issues that they found difficult to share with anyone, to deal with these issues diligently and with empathy.
Oct. 2014 – Present
Senior Director and Head, Breast Surgical Oncology,
Max Institute of Cancer Care, Max Super-speciality Hospital, Patparganj, Vaishali, Noida
Dr Geeta is presently heading the Breast Surgical Oncology Services at Max Institute of Cancer Care. Max Institute of Cancer Care is one of the few centres in Delhi offering exclusive and comprehensive breast care services in the form of screening, genetic counselling, surgery for both benign and malignant breast disease and exclusive medical oncology and radiation oncology services, complemented extremely well by dedicated breast radiology and pathology services. She is engaged in the entire gambit of surgeries for breast cancer, including mastectomies, breast conservation surgeries, axillary dissections, sentinel lymph node biopsy, Type I and II oncoplastic surgeries, surgeries for impalpable lesions etc.
A dedicated Breast Tumour Board to address specific areas of concern in each patient of breast cancer is conducted once every week. During the course of treatment, breast cancer patients are invited to attend Breast Support Group meetings once a month in an attempt to address their problems and to get them to interact with other ladies who have lived through or are currently going through the same experience. Psychological counselling, Physiotherapy and Diet advice are an integral part of this program.
With its motto of “Beautifying Lives and Strengthening Souls”, the organization is committed to enhancing the quality of lives of all those who are afflicted by cancer.
